Man of Silence

Action films whose hero is a candidate who is met by an army of correspondents have started since the candidates began registering their candidacy at the Ministry of Interior centers. Some of them are professional, others are bold, and some of them represent parties competing with the candidate, so they are keen to embarrass him with questions that are sometimes very ridiculous. There is a question, which I wish it would stop, which is: "Who will you vote for the presidency of the National Assembly?" This is a loaded question, and the intent behind it is known. The second question, which is repeated a lot without any benefit and which I heard from one of the correspondents directed at the candidate, Alia Al-Khaled, related to racism towards dual nationals. "Umm Hammoud" said Well about how to deal professionally with all correspondents, and this is something that is strange to the girl of Kuwait, as she is powerful in such situations. I believe that everyone who wants to run for office and enter the arena of politics must accept the mass media of all kinds, but I would like to comment on this issue of "racism", How can there be racism against someone who violates the law of the state, whether he is a dual national or a forged national? For the first, the law allows him to choose between the two nationalities, so where is the racism in raising the issue of duality? As for the counterfeiter, the term racism also does not apply to him because he is a criminal, his place is imprisonment and deportation, and he is not Kuwaiti and never will be. In general, preserving the national identity is something a Kuwaiti must adhere to and not neglect. I go back to "the man of the moment," as some like to call him, and say that he really deserves it, the big brother Ahmed Al-Saadoun, but "Bou Abdelaziz," since assuming the presidency of the National Assembly, has followed the policy of silence at times and turned a blind eye at other times, with all the anger and populist discourses, which led to the paralysis of the National Assembly's relationship with the government. As a result, His Highness the Prime Minister met with the members of the National Assembly and gave them advice that they did not take into account, but some considered it a threat, which led to the resignation of the government and the disruption of the work of the National Assembly and the state. I think that the head of the National Assembly, with his experience and a strong personality supported by great respect in the National Assembly, the government, and all segments of society, could have played a major role in defusing the crisis, but he remained silent, as he also remained silent regarding appointments, transfers, delegation, and other stories raised before by some heroes of the opposition. I wished he would deny if these were just rumors or stand firm against this absurdity if it were true, but unfortunately, he did not, and we do not know the reasons for that. Today, the candidate for the presidency of the next National Assembly appeared before us with a statement in front of the press. He said a phrase that I conveyed as it came: "He who does not attend does not have the right to object. You must attend and choose who you think represents you." "Bou Abdelaziz," you are the best to know that when the representative is elected, he must represent the nation and not those who elected him. What I mean here is that even those who did not attend have the right to object, and object as they please, because this is their constitutional and legal right, and they cannot be deprived of this right or even direct that phrase to him. The National Assembly elections are coming, and your fortunes may be great, but if you reach the National Assembly as well as its presidency, then it is our right for you as citizens to abandon the policy of silence and return to what we used to do to you, a man of stances and history. The composition of the next National Assembly will be balanced by the parties' fierce arguments and disagreements, and a difficult opposition bloc will be formed. The situation requires a skilled captain to lead the ship to safety, and I hope that you will abandon your silence and those who shout, scream, and have narrow interests, for they will not be of help to you and will not benefit Kuwait.
Stay safe.
