Boudhari is the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Kuwait, who decided to leave his post and asked not to be renewed. He also apologized for accepting the responsibility of the Ministry of Finance, as reported by newspapers. The banking and financial history of Boudhari extends for more than 35 years, and he is well known. In addition, Boudhari is an old friend and main member of the old banker’s group, which is a closed group whose members' numbers do not increase but decrease with the death of its members' hopes from Allah to be back after a long time. We became friends more than three decades ago, but our lives crossed through our work in Kuwaiti banks, so we had no mutual interest or commerce but true friendship, and I am praying to Allah to keep such a friendship and save us from the envious people. I will talk about Budari. I knew him at the time of Al Manakh market crisis and the program of difficult debts whose solutions preoccupied the banks and the state, and he represented, as I remember, the Commercial Bank and our friends Muthanna Al-Hamad and Nasser Al-Jalal, who were at the Bank of Kuwait and the Middle East, and our dear friend Adel Al-Majed. He worked for a while at Gulf Bank and then returned to the National Bank of Kuwait at that time. Frankly, through my practical journey in banks, I did not find a disciplined and serious personality to the extent that Boudhari does. Working is sacred for him, and it cannot be wasted, as he is always the first to arrive, and I would not be exaggerating if I said that he is always one of the last to leave. He continued at the Commercial Bank and rose through the ranks to leadership positions, then moved to Boubyan Bank and, from there, to the Central Bank. There, Boudhari’s personality and experience matched the nature of work in the most important supervisory institution in Kuwait. His giving increased, and he became the strong man in that institution, as he was fair, unbiased, and objective in his decisions. Other than that, the position did not change his nature, like others when they occupied high positions, or when they gained money, or when they changed and showed denial to their friends. Here I am talking about Budhari, not because he is a friend or the bearer of a position, but because he is a wonderful model for the Kuwaiti citizen, hard-working and honest, who is not dazzled by appearances and positions, and he is not a medium in any way; do more, talk less. For him, right and wrong actions are clear, and there is no space between them. He is a citizen who is devoted to his work and loves his country, a man with clean hands and a heart. During what we see as rampant job neglect in some parts of the state and parliament, whose members need to review themselves and look into the future of our children, the state must be careful when choosing its leaders to stay away from electoral settlements, mediation, and compromises because their results are bad. Every tribe, sect, and family has someone who is comparable to, or even better than, Budhari. Therefore, let us move away from electing members and stakeholders who can only talk without action. A good choice is our salvation and the future of our country. All the best to our loyal friend Budhari. And I say to him: You have given everything, you are appreciated, and you still can give, so do not get off your horse, because your time has not yet come.

On the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan, I extend my warmest congratulations and blessings to the good people of Kuwait, both citizens and expats. God willing, you will witness it every year.

Stay safe.
