Statement (49)

One series has ended, and another has begun, and we pray to Allah to help us in the next incidents, as the National Assembly has become like some boring foreign series whose end can be grasped from the very beginning. We congratulate those who won the people’s trust, and better luck to those who did not. As was the case in the earlier parliament and what preceded it, the deputies rushed to meet in one of the diwaniyas with the exclusion of their political opponents, including women, because some of them considered that women's natural place is the kitchen only. There, the power is shared among them while they show us solidarity and compatibility, and after a few days, we see division and familial, sectarian, and tribal positioning that intersect with agreement and disagreement according to interests and beliefs. Recently, they submitted a two-paper pledge, which was published on the accounts of some of the members named in the unsigned statement! I have tried to ponder this statement, and I believe that the only thing that is clear in it is the disclosure of the names, and on top of them is the name of Mr. Ahmed Al-Saadoun, as if they confirm that the Speaker of the National Assembly is "Bou Abd-Abdelaziz" without explicitly mentioning that in the statement, as that may lead them into a deep disagreement With whom the vice president is. It is possible that there are those who wish to run for the presidency, but they did not announce it, and this issue in general will turn the matter against them, so they contented themselves with placing the name of Mr. Al-Saadoun alone at the head of the list, and then they would see what they were doing. Well, this is ok, and we have understood it, but the first page includes content that is comprehensive and ambiguous at times and revolutionary at other times, but this speech is without any evidence or support. They say that there is a committee they call the "Coordinating Committee," which will arrange priorities and distribute them to the next sessions. Of course, this matter is considered, as we say in the colloquial dialect, "pure procrastination." This statement lacks a third paper in which it defines the projects that they summarized in two words, namely: "In continuation of the efforts made by the parliamentary majority in Parliament 2022 and the subsequent initiatives during the 2023 election period." But the nation's deputies decided to skip it at that stage because they knew that it was not possible to agree on it, whether as a priority or as a subject. Well, what did these members agree on? I can tell you that they agreed on four issues that they mentioned as priorities and asked to be approved before the summer vacation, and they divided them as follows: 1: The High Election Commission 2: Amending the Constitutional Court Law 3: The Housing Law 4: Health insurance for housewives Well, let's analyze the matter and see how important these issues are compared to the rest of the issues that concern the citizen. I do not know, frankly, what the priority of the High Commission is. And why shouldn't it be postponed? The national Assembly members still have the four years that they need, of course, if we assume that you will complete those four years. What is more important as a priority for a citizen burdened with obligations? that commission, or cancelling his due loans? What is more important for the citizen: raising the salaries of retirees or the housing law, which has flaws that require years to be implemented, or that the suffering of retirees has become a secondary matter in your view? What is the importance of adopting health insurance for housewives as a priority? You know very well that the entire Afia program focuses primarily on the interests of private hospitals and drug dealers. Wasn't it a priority to demand raising the level of public hospitals and allocating some of them to treat Kuwaitis only? Or is this difficult to implement? In order not to diverge from the topic, I would also like to remind some members of their promises to their constituents to include the draught abolition of the offending law in the first session, or has the matter become irrelevant after your success? Personally, I think the earlier three issues are nothing but a pebble in the eye, as all of them are draught laws, despite their importance, but they can be postponed and replaced by what is more important to the citizen. So, what remains of this revolutionary statement is the "Constitutional Court", which appeared on the surface after its ruling to nullify the previous Council, and it seems that some members want to change the law as soon as possible before the court considers the submitted appeals and the council gets invalidated, and this, as it is said colloquially, is "the goal." The brothers do not have enough room for new elections, expenses, and the distribution of smiles here and there. None of us know, and I do not think that many members know what form of legislative amendment will be presented, how serious it is, or who will present it. Personally, I hope and believe sincerely that I am wrong and that I see this parliament and that government in permanent agreement and the achievement of what is in the interest of the country.
Stay Safe.
